Electrical Consultants, Inc. ECI has an opening for an assistant project manager in Billings, MT. This position requires a basic understanding of contracts, change orders, invoicing, project work scopes, purchase orders and general engineering documents (Company specific On-The-Job-Training for these items will be provided). The successful applicant will provide assistance and technical support to multiple project managers and other office staff.
Duties for the consideration of entry level include: Coordinating and executing daily administrative tasks; document control, handling and filing, assembly of engineering documents, preparation of meeting agendas, meeting minutes, project reports, document tracking logs and purchase orders, invoicing, cost control. Additional duties include quality control documentation, safety documentation, processing and distributing project related documents, supporting client relations, and supporting project financial controls.
Duties for the consideration of intermediate level include mastering the entry level tasks and: Assisting the project manager in the execution of the management plan for assigned projects; helping coordinate and manage the project from inception to completion; carrying out daily operational tasks in an effective and timely manner; facilitating communications between office staff; tracking and directly reporting project status updates to project manager(s); organizing, filing, and maintaining all current project documents; entering information into and managing the digital project databases; assisting in ensuring compliance with necessary project specifications; helping create, manage, and maintain the project budget; helping create a project schedule and ensure the project adheres to the timeline and meets the goals of the client; consulting with and gathering information from technicians, engineers, contractors, etc.; assisting in creating and tracking bids and proposals; tracking change orders and updating clients on status.
MinimumRequirements: High school diploma plus 2 years training beyond high school and 2 years of direct work experience or a bachelors degree in Business or related field (preferred); excellent organizational skills; strong written and verbal communication skills; working knowledge of a variety of computer applications including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Access), Vantagepoint ERP software knowledge a bonus; occasional travel may be required, therefore, the successful applicant will be subject to ECI's auto insurance carrier requirements. The successful applicant may be subject to client-mandated drug and background checking.
