As a result, we are growing and looking to add a talented Assistant Project Manager to our dynamic firm.
As Assistant Project Manager, you will assist with all aspects of our projects from preconstruction through closeout. It is important the candidate can work well with architects, clients, office staff, field staff, and subcontractors.
This position is required to work at the Norcon office or corresponding jobsite.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with preparing project subcontractor bid list
- Perform quantity takeoffs for all trades related to constructing a project
- Obtain bids from subcontractors
- Prepare scope of work and review with Subcontractors
- Review submittals and generate RFI’s
- Generate and track QAQC lists
- Assist with preparing an estimate, project options, and clarifications
- Assist with preparing subcontract agreements and purchase orders
- Assist with preparing the Project Schedule
- Collaborate with project team to inform them of upcoming deadlines, tracking schedule progress, critical activities, or communicating any changes
- Assist with preparing pricing for change orders
- Approve and code subcontractor and vendor invoices
- Review and code weekly field staff timesheets
- Develop, distribute, and track all correspondence related to the project documents –drawings, sketches, specifications, addenda, bid RFI responses, submittals, etc.
- Assist with project closeout such as compiling O&M Manuals, distributing closeout letters, and tracking punch list items to completion
- Generate OAC agendas with project team
- Assist in BIM coordination (where applicable)
- Other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- General understanding related to managing a construction project quality, schedule, and budget
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office with a desire to learn new systems
- Experience using project management software
- Ability to be a team player performing various production support tasks
- Ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Be a self-starter with the ability to work independently
- Ability to maintain client relationships
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Minimum of 3 years project support experience in a fast-paced environment
- Construction industry experience or a related field is preferred
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to travel to job sites and vendor locations
- Be responsible and accountable for projects
- Have strong negotiation and analytical skills
- Be strongly committed to safety
