About the Job
Dominion Builders and it’s subsidiary DAG is seeking an Assistant Project Manager (APM) to support our Project Managers and Field Superintendents in the execution of our commercial construction projects ranging from $5 million to $30 million in value. The APM is a key role that will have responsibility for planning, directing, and managing a construction project’s daily operations. This person is an aggressive, take-charge leader who has a strong customer focus, a sense of urgency, skilled at building a cohesive construction team, a concern and respect for safety and the desire to achieve quality in the final product.
Key Requirements:
- 5 years of experience in a Construction Administration Support Role
- Extensive working knowledge of Procore and the Microsoft Office applications
- Degree in construction or engineering preferred
Primary Responsibilities:
- Coordinate work of a multi-disciplinary team throughout an entire project's development, while under supervision of a Project Manager
- Assist and monitor project Requests for Information (RFIs) to ensure timely response.
- Collect and review Submittal information to ensure the materials match the project specifications. Forward Submittals to the Client/Architect for approval. Monitor to ensure approval is received and subcontractors are notified.
- Prepare project start-up binders and close-out manuals
- Assist Field Superintendent as needed supervising subcontractors, reviewing completed work to ensure proper quality, enforcing site safety and managing punch list
- Prepare meeting minutes and plan weekly internal and external project meetings
- Assist in determining the overall project budget by reviewing bids and calling subcontractors
- Assist project team with setting up bid packages, conceptual pricing, and value engineering
- Continuously update budget data and bid information
- Coordinate local city permit and utility requirements
- Coordinate workload through the entire project development and complete all required project documentation on a timely basis
- Work with the Project Manager and Project Design Team for project reviews with the company executive team as needed
- Perform other duties as required by project needs

- Excellent time management/prioritization skills

- Possesses a strong desire to learn new information and methods in pursuit of continuous improvement
- Accountable to working within budgeted schedules and meeting deadlines
Other Considerations:
- Candidates who reside locally are preferred
- Some travel required for client meetings and site visits
