About the Job
We are seeking a skilled Fire Alarm Assistant Project Manager to join our team. In this role you will be directly responsible for planning, organizing and the supervision of multiple commercial Fire Life Safety System projects as well as the direct oversight and management of the installation team alongside the Project Manager.
Primary Responsibilities:
This position requires one to be in the field on project sites moving from one project to the next to keep pace with schedules and manpower oversight.
Management of installation for fire life safety systems in small to large commercial buildings.
Managing multiple projects at a time. Coordinating with Foreman, Project Manager, General Contractors, and other trades.
Walking new projects, then layout and provide direction to CSI installers on site as well as coordinate and communicate with the Project Manager to efficiently complete the project on time and on budget.
Resolve field problems through research of multiple alternatives. Helps the team troubleshoot if needed.
Coordinate the project activities with other trades at the work locations to optimize installation time.
Identify out of scope requests by the contractor or customer and notify Project Manager of pending changes.
Assist customers on site with all questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
Responsible for the development and execution of the installation project plan provided including equipment delivery, material procurement, installation, trouble shooting and commissioning to successfully complete our projects while exceeding the customer's expectations.
Resolve project design and installation problems through research of multiple alternatives.
Meet with code officials to arrange for building permits, code issues and to discuss the intended wiring and installation methods being used.
Review and understand CSI’s contractual scope of work by reading and interpreting the contract, blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, schematics, and operational product manuals.
Gather, organize, and maintain the project files consisting of contract drawings, specifications, change order logs, RFI’s and other correspondence as well as CSI proposals and shop drawings.
Work directly with the Accounting and Purchasing team on material orders and bookings.
Track change orders, project punch lists, RFI’s as well as schedule and coordinate equipment delivery as needed.
Effectively communicate project status to Project Manager.
Complete all appropriate company paperwork as required.
Company vehicle, gas card, cell phone and laptop are provided for this position.
Ideal Qualifications:
DIR State Certified in Fire Life Safety (Blue Card).
OSHA30 Certified.
Notifier Certified.
Knowledge and skilled at conduit bending.
Basic Qualifications:
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Applicants must meet requirements in relation to background and driving record.
Must be proficient in the use and application of industry related equipment including MS Office.
Must have excellent communications skills, using tact and diplomacy when dealing with customers.
Regular, reliable, predictable attendance.
