Job Title: Assistant Project Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Reports To:Department Manager
SUMMARY:
Responsible for overseeing an assigned list of projects/ customer business including negotiations with carriers to ensure cost effective, accurate movement of product. Successful management of this book of business and driving account performance will lead to continued growth with our business partners. Develop and maintain a business partnership with both customers and carriers to help them execute the daily operational functions to ensure freight is picked up and delivered on time.
**Responsibilities: **
- Work closely with customers and carrier partners concerning cargo status and/or to obtain customer information necessary to complete delivery.
- Process changes such as rescheduling and cancellation.
- Act as a liaison between customers, colleagues, and carriers.
- Scheduling of deliveries to jobsites according to customer guidelines.
- Communicating with project managers, providing timely delivery status upon request
- Constant notification of outbound and inbound deliveries from warehouse, jobsites, and vendor facilities.
- Effectively manage customer issues and complaints to resolution, as necessary.
- Manage the day-to-day POD process, including collection and daily audit of documents.
- Completes all assigned tasks in a thorough and workmanlike fashion. This includes communication via voice call through office or personal phone, email, and text.
- Clearly communicate expectations to team members and stakeholders.
- Creates a positive and professional work environment and leads by example.
- Negotiate rates with carriers analyzing more effective rates and methods of shipping.
- Ensure that billing of freight charges is effectively carried out. Coordinate payment of all freight charges ensuring proper allocation of freight costs and overseeing record keeping with respect to charges and payments.
- Develop tools and best practices for project management and execution.
- Assist with the development of reports, and the loading and configuration of the demonstration data and systems.
- Maintain exceptional relationships with all carriers and partner with the transportation team to provide outstanding customer service.
- Update and maintain rate files and supply rates to management as needed.

- Must be able to quickly process information and make decisions. An ability to translate and enter data correctly with demonstrated attention to detail is essential.

- Possesses intermediate level skills in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook)

- Perform other related duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
**Qualifications: **
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college education preferred
- Demonstrated superior written and verbal communication skills
- Properly functioning personal phone
