Milne Electric & Technologies, an industry leader in the construction and maintenance of electrical and low voltage systems in the Puget Sound Area, is searching for an Assistant Purchasing Agent to join their team! This position will assist in the acquisition of materials and supplies that are critical to the success of our projects and business operations.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter, has great communication skills, and is eager to support this key department. This position will work out of the Milne office located in Monroe.

Key Responsibilities of the Assistant Purchasing Agent:
- Work with Purchasing management on Purchase Orders for all major equipment purchases and negotiations.
- Solicit bids based on material requisitions provided. Verify accuracy of quoted BOM to material requisition.
- Issue and manage purchase orders for approved requisitions and contracts, supporting a variety of departments
- Work with Warehouse management to track incoming & outgoing orders, returns to vendors, warehouse receiving (back-up) & check material requisitions against current stock
- Coordinates activities involved with procuring goods and services for approved projects, equipment, tools, parts and supplies
- Partner with Accounts Payable in setting up new vendors, paying invoices and resolving invoicing issues as they pertain to purchasing
- Provide purchase planning and cost control information by working with Project Managers
- Keeps information accessible by filing documents in an organized manner
- Ensure the company’s documented purchasing processes and policies are adhered to
- Ensure accuracy of costs and accounting codes through strong attention to detail
- Data Entry including but not limited to: entering daily orders, matching/processing invoices & entering invoices into accounts payable software
- Track credits from vendors
What the Successful Candidate will have:
- Experience in Electrical or relevant construction fields
- Inventory management experience
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel/Word) & Bluebeam or Adobe
- Ability to communicate effectively and in a timely manner
- Ability to be a self-starter and manage a fluctuating workload
- Willing to proactively manage responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with the Purchasing team to maximize productivity
- Valid drivers license with no major violations within the last 3 years
Compensation:
- $28.85 to $38.45 per hour, DOE
- Potential for additional Bonuses dependent on a mutable of factors (such as Company Profitability; Division Profitability; Personal Performance)
