Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Configure and support automobile insurance rating applications.
- Apply core principals of software development and design to new and existing solutions to improve operating efficiency, performance, and adapt to new requirements.
- Provide input to business analysts and/or system analysts during requirements gathering.
- Test code using various techniques, including but not limited to, manual and automated unit tests, functional testing, regression tests, etc.
- Maintain code integrity, branches, and migration within source control.
- Prepare builds for deployment to various environments, including following corporate system change control procedures.
- Support multiple systems in production through maintenance cycles, post deployment monitoring, and issue troubleshooting.
- Write documentation to describe software development, logic, process/data flow, and alterations.
- Utilize various development methodologies in a software development team environment.
Education:
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university in Computer Science or related field preferred
Additional appropriate experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Experience:
1 or more years related experience using the following development tools and/or platforms: .NET, SQL Server, N-Tier Architecture (web and desktop), Job Scheduling and Source Control
Exposure to automobile insurance policy processing is a plus. Experience with Jarus Rating a plus.
Skills/Knowledge:
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office productivity tools (e.g
Outlook, Word, Excel) to manage work. - Demonstrated ability to clarify business requirements and provide system specifications based on analysis.
- Understanding of object-oriented programming concepts, relational databases and server environments along with a general understanding of front and back-office technology.
- Effective problem-solving skills, including ability to analyze complex issues, find the root cause of the problem, and consider a wide range of alternatives before acting.
- Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups or individuals.
- Ability to multi-task and demonstrate flexibility while maintaining attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and interact professionally and effectively in a team environment.
Salary Range: $51,200 - $81,800 / $61,200 - $97,800/$73,100 - $116,700 Annual. Actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity, and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials, and experience of the candidate; internal equity and other conditions of employment
