Position Summary:
Join our team at American Freight Furniture Department as an Assistant Store Manager and play a key role in driving sales, delivering exceptional customer service, and supporting the overall success of our store. You will work closely with the Store Manager to lead and motivate a team of associates while ensuring operational excellence and maximizing profitability.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Store Manager in overseeing daily operations, including sales, inventory management, and customer service.
- Lead by example and motivate associates to achieve sales targets and deliver outstanding customer experiences.
- Train, coach, and develop associates to enhance product knowledge, sales techniques, and customer service skills.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, including safety regulations and inventory controls.
- Collaborate with the Store Manager to create and implement strategies to drive sales growth and increase profitability.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing store environment to enhance the shopping experience for customers.
- Handle customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a professional and timely manner, striving to resolve issues to their satisfaction.
- Assist in scheduling and staffing to meet business needs and ensure adequate coverage during peak times.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and assist in managing stock levels to optimize sales and minimize losses.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall success of the store.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of retail management experience, preferably in furniture or home goods.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and delivering exceptional customer service.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire others.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of retail operations, including inventory management and merchandising principles.
