Assistant Supervisor of Shelter Operations - St. Jude House - Franciscan Ministries

Position Summary

In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the Supervisor of Shelter Operations in managing the daily activities of the domestic violence shelter. This role involves assisting with staff supervision, resident services, and operational tasks to ensure a safe and supportive environment for all residents. 

Essential Functions, Key Duties, & Responsibilities

• Assist in supervising and training shelter staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
• Help ensure the shelter is clean, safe, and well-maintained, addressing any operational issues promptly.
• Support the intake process, assist residents with accessing services, and address their concerns.
• Help implement and enforce shelter policies and procedures.
• Assist in responding to emergencies and crises, providing support to staff and residents.
• Maintain records, assist with report preparation, and perform other administrative duties as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Comply with all policies and procedures and any updates.

Position Requirements

Education: High School Diploma/GED required; Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or related field preferred

Licenses/Certifications: N/A

Experience: 1+ years of leadership experience and knowledge of domestic violence issues and trauma-informed care practices
