SUMMARY OF JOB:The Assistant Teacher supports the Teachers and the Director by helping to create a warm, nurturing and safe environment for the children and assisting in activities to improve the overall care and quality of education. S/he must be able to communicate, listen and work well with others in a team environment. S/he is to assist in providing a warm, nurturing and safe environment for the children where self-concepts are enhanced, independence encouraged and individuality respected in accordance with organizational policies and state and local requirements. Assist in the implementation of the daily activities under the guidance of the teacher. Coordinate daily activities in the absence of the teacher.
RECRUITMENT REQUIREMENTS:- AA/AAS degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
- A high school diploma, 30 college credits, including 12 Early Childhood Education credits or
- A high school diploma or general education development certificate and completion of a post secondary training curriculum such as Child Development Associate (CDA) and 6 ECE credits or
- A high school diploma or general education development certificate and completion of a post secondary training curriculum such as Child Development Associate (CDA) and
- Criminal History, Child Abuse Clearance National Registry of Sex Offenders Clearance and FBI Fingerprinting
