About the Job
The Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) is seeking a highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented Assistant to support the Vice President and Chief Digital Content Officer (CDCO). This role is essential in helping support CDCO in the execution of CFR’s digital strategy, which aims to enhance our role as a leader in foreign policy analysis and engagement. The Assistant will play a key role in assisting with the day-to-day operations of the digital department, coordinating cross-functional initiatives, and ensuring the smooth execution of projects aligned with the digital strategy.
The major responsibilities of this position will include (but are not limited to)::- Executive Support: Provide high-level administrative support to the CDCO, including calendar management, meeting preparation, correspondence, travel coordination, as well as tracking departmental expenses, managing the CDCO’s corporate credit card, and coordinating invoice payments and reimbursements.
- Project Coordination: Assist in the planning and coordination of digital initiatives across multiple teams, ensuring alignment with CFR’s digital strategy.
- Communication: Draft and edit communications, presentations, and reports on behalf of the CDCO. Serve as a liaison between the digital department and other teams within CFR.
- Research and Analysis: Conduct research on digital trends, audience insights, and competitive analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Special Projects: Handle ad-hoc projects as assigned by the CDCO, which may include coordinating cross-departmental initiatives or assisting with high-priority tasks.
- 2-4 years of experience in an executive support, project management, or digital media role. Experience in a nonprofit, think tank, or media environment is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, digital media, marketing, international relations, or a related field with an interest in foreign policy, international relations, and digital media.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong writing, proofreading, and editing skills.
- Ability to meet demanding deadlines with a positive attitude and interact with members and the public in a professional manner.
- Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, project management tools, and digital content platforms.
- Familiarity with overseeing budgets and tracking expenses.
- Proactive and self-motivated with a strong attention to detail.
- Team player with capacity to take initiative, demonstrate flexibility, and work both independently and collaboratively.

Pay Range
$58,000 to $63,000 per year
Pay commensurate with experience and education
