The role of Assisted Living Director requires clinical expertise and licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).

Essential Functions of Assisted Living Director (RN or LPN):
- The Manager has the overall responsibility for all departments, ensuring compliance with applicable policies, laws, and rules relating to care provided to the tenants and administration of the program
- The Manager has the overall responsibility of maintaining control and directing all program financial concerns
- Select and direct personnel to provide services to and for the tenants of the program
- Communicate with family members regarding the condition and progress of the tenant, including in-person and telephone discussions where appropriate
- Organize and lead monthly in-service educational programs for all employees and record maintenance of programs and participants
- Oversee program payroll records and other accounting/financial matters
- Maintain and review all cost reports for income versus expenditures and balances remaining according to all applicable rules/regulations of state and federal laws
- Maintain a staffing pattern in all departments to meet the needs of the tenants and the program.
- Oversee authorizations of overtime, disciplining, and terminating of employees
- Responsible for employment evaluations and provide counseling and assistance when necessary on employee performance improvement issues
- Assist with development, revising and enforcing all program policies and procedures
- Assist with completion of reports, census data, and/or other information/documentation as required by internal polices, state and federal rules, regulations and laws for assisted living centers
- Develop and carryout marketing and census building efforts
- Develop and maintain referral list and market to all referral sources
- Respond to all phone and in-person inquiries
- Tour all potential tenants
- Make daily rounds to check building appearance
- Maintain tenant charts and administrative files
- Maintain staff personnel files
- Order and maintain necessary supplies
- Hire, train, and evaluate universal workers to ensure proper staffing for assisted living
- Coordinate training and/or delegation of staff with RN
- Fill in for universal worker as necessary
- Follow policies/procedures for assisted living to ensure regulatory compliance
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications of Assisted Living Director (RN or LPN):
- Current Missouri RN or LPN Licensure in good standing
- Must hold or attain within 90 days of hire certification as ALF Assessor (Assessment Coordinator) per MO regulatory requirements.
- Must hold or attain within 90 day of hire certification as an Instructor/Examiner for Level 1 Medication Aide (L1MA) course facilitation and evaluation.
- Experience in which administrative and supervisory ability has been demonstrated is preferred
