Job Details
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Condo Association Attorney to join our team.
This role involves providing comprehensive legal support and guidance to condominium associations, homeowners’ associations, and their boards of directors.
- Represent condominium and homeowner associations in a variety of legal matters, including contract disputes, governing document interpretation and enforcement, construction defect claims, and general litigation.
- Draft, review, and amend governing documents such as declarations, bylaws, rules, and regulations, ensuring compliance with Florida law and addressing the specific needs of the associations.
- Advise boards of directors on day-to-day operational and legal matters, including dispute resolution, assessment collections, covenant enforcement, and risk management.
- Assist with mediation and negotiation processes, as well as represent associations in court proceedings as necessary.
- Stay current with Florida laws and regulations pertaining to community associations and provide education to clients on compliance, legal updates, and best practices.
- Collaborate with other attorneys and staff within the firm to ensure a high level of client service and satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Active member in good standing of the Florida Bar.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in condominium and homeowner association law or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of Florida Statutes, particularly Chapters 718 and 720, and other applicable laws and regulations.
- Proven experience in litigation, mediation, and negotiation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Commitment to providing high-quality client service and building long-term relationships.
- Experience working in a law firm setting, specifically with community association clients.
- Certification or specialized training in community association law.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
