Responsibilities:
- Provide legal representation to clients in family court proceedings, including divorce, child custody, child support, and alimony cases.
- Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis to support case preparation and strategy development.
- Draft, review, and file legal documents, including petitions, responses, motions, and agreements.
- Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients in an effort to resolve matters favorably and efficiently.
- Advocate for clients in court proceedings, presenting evidence, and making persuasive arguments to judges and juries.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all relevant laws, regulations, and court decisions related to family law.
- Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with clients, providing them with timely updates and ensuring their needs are met.
- Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and legal support staff to ensure a seamless service delivery.
- Participate in continuing legal education programs and professional development activities to maintain and enhance legal knowledge and skills.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active member of the state Bar in good standing.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a practicing attorney, with a focus on family law.
- Proven track record in handling alimony cases.
- Exceptional negotiation skills, with the ability to resolve complex issues and disputes.
- Excellent legal research and writing skills.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret laws, regulations, and court decisions.
- High level of professionalism and ethical standards.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, colleagues, and court officials.
- Ability to manage a high-volume caseload and work under pressure.
- Proficient in using legal research tools and software.
