Job Details
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive legal advice and guidance on various legal issues (business law, construction law, design law, etc.)
- Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to advise on legal rights, obligations, and implications on various matters
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and legal documents to ensure the organization's full legal rights
- Handle legal disputes and litigations, including negotiation with external parties
- Manage compliance, regulatory, and governance matters
- Keep abreast of legislative changes that may affect the company and its affiliates
- Perform pre-litigation work to minimize risks and maximize legal rights
- Review advertising and marketing materials to ensure compliance with legal requirements
- Provide clarification on legal language or specifications to everyone in the organization
- Prepare and present comprehensive legal strategies to secure payments, handle negligence claims, and deal with defective construction and design claims
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
- Licensed to practice law in the state of Georgia
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as an attorney, preferably within the construction industry
- Proficiency in iManage and OneDrive
- Strong experience in drafting, negotiating, and reviewing legal documents
- In-depth knowledge of statutory and regulatory issues, corporate governance issues, and current laws
- Excellent legal research and writing skills
- Strong experience in litigation and providing legal counsel
- Ability to provide legal advice and assistance in a clear, concise, and comprehensive manner
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to handle complex legal issues
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills
- High degree of professional ethics, integrity, and gravitas.
