Summary
Morgan & Morgan, P.A. is seeking an Associate Attorney within our Premises Liability litigation department in our Tampa area offices. This Associate will be an experienced, detail-oriented individual who will work closely with our talented attorneys providing support before suit, during litigation, and through trials.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal support to both clients and attorneys with primary focus on personal injury premises liability matters throughout the state of Florida.
- Day-to-day handling of pre-litigation and litigation tasks at the direction of and with support from senior attorneys
- Maintain strong client relationships while guiding clients through the lifecycle of their case
- Legal research and writing
- Drafting and filing of pre-litigation and litigation legal documents
- Preparation for and attendance at trials, depositions, mediations, hearings, and other court appearances
- Collaborate closely with attorneys, litigation paralegals, and case managers to drive team compliance with established KPIs
- Interact with expert witnesses to include conferences, drafting of expert reports and affidavits
- Completion of Flip-to-Litigation approval for viable cases
- Complete turndown approvals and client calls
- Participate in settlement negotiations
- Manage the release approval process
Requirements
- Law degree from a fully accredited law school
- An active member in good standing with the Florida Bar Association
- 1+ years of personal injury experience preferred
- Ability to manage high volume of pre-litigation cases
- Ability to work with staff, including case managers and shared service teams, who support case development.
- Excellent client service and communication skills
- Strong leadership skills
- Self-starter driven by long-term career goals
- Management of case staff experience
- Superior writing and oral advocacy skills
This role reports to a senior-level trial attorney.
