Position Summary
The Associate Broker will be responsible for learning and mastering each step within the account lifecycle in support of the Lead Broker and other team members within our ProExec division based in Charlotte, NC. The role requires working as a team, engagement with underwriters and other insurance company representatives, as well as interaction with insurance agents and in some cases policyholders as well. The ideal candidate for this role is detail-oriented, self-motivated, able to complete tasks accurately and in advance of deadlines, manage multiple projects at once, and communicate clearly and effectively.

What will your job entail?
Responsibilities:
- Learn the entire account lifecycle and market dynamics, including the roles of each stakeholder in the insurance transaction, commit to ongoing professional development including educational courses, professional designations and licensing programs
- Initiate account lifecycle by creating account file, requesting and obtaining loss runs, determining underwriting information requirements, soliciting required underwriting information from agents, reviewing underwriting information to ensure it meets requirements, uploading and organizing underwriting information according to team standards
- Enter policyholder information into various benchmarking tools and provide benchmarking report to agents
- Review underwriting information and make notes around specific exposures to be addressed or specific policy language needed, select markets that will be approached, create summary of the account and submit that summary and supporting documentation to underwriters
- Manage underwriting responses, review quotes and complete account template to provide an overview to Lead Broker of quotes and indications received from underwriters, submit coverage requests to underwriters and manage responses, update account template as required
- Finalize list of markets and their responses, complete summary template or work together with Lead Broker on presentation, communicate options and recommendations to agent
- Confirm all requirements have been met and account is compliant with internal policies and procedures, as well as surplus lines requirements (if applicable)
- Follow-up as necessary for binding instructions, review and confirm binding instructions, communicate binding instructions to underwriters, receive and review carrier binding documents for accuracy, bind and invoice account in RT system and disseminate those documents to the correct parties
- Follow-up as necessary for policy documents, receive and review policy documents for accuracy, upload policy documentation to electronic file
- Ensure quality control of all account files, maintain up-to-date status of each account in team account tracker, meet all account-related deadlines
- Forge collaborative relationships with agents, underwriters and internal teams, develop robust network of industry contacts, fostering mutually beneficial relationships that contribute to consistent sales pipeline growth
- Respond to and address any service requests from agents, policyholders or insurance companies, clear and transparent communication with all parties on information needs and changes made
Work Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year of work experience in Wholesale brokerage, Commercial insurance coverages, Sales or Underwriting is preferred.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree required; Business Administration, Sales, and Risk Management preferred. Any other related discipline or commensurate work experience considered.
Licenses & Certifications:
- Prescribed: Minimum requirements for state P&C and/or surplus line licenses
- Preferred: Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) (Preferred), Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR)
