The nation’s satellites perform important civil, scientific, and national defense functions such as navigation, communications, weather forecasting, astronomical observations, and surveillance. As space becomes increasingly congested and contested, maintaining awareness of all man-made objects around the Earth is critical for ensuring the safe and effective operation of U.S. satellites. The Space Systems and Technology Division of Lincoln Laboratory explores novel space system concepts, develops them into prototypes, and turns those prototypes into impactful operational capabilities.
The Space Systems and Technology Division is seeking an Associate Business Manager to provide support to both the Division and the Advanced Sensors and Techniques Group. Job Description
The Associate Business Manager’s role will support of all aspects of the division’s administrative and business functions, including our financial portfolio and day-to-day operations of the groups. As an integral member of the division’s business management team, the Associate Business Manager will partner with a group Business Manager to ensure smooth and efficient operations. Responsibilities will include:
Financial Analysis and Reporting
Utilizing templates and tools to report program expenditures and activities
Preparing program-level financial reports for government sponsors
Researching requests and generating financial reports using our data warehouse
Procurement
Facilitating and monitoring purchasing from beginning to end, reaching out to external vendors as needed
Managing open commitments by working with support staff to identify and close as needed
Ensuring invoices are paid in a timely manner
Managing credit card approvals for group
Personnel Management
Reviewing and approving time sheets for hourly employees
Assisting with the monthly employee time allocation process
Facilities
Assisting with inventory tracking in our internal property tracking system
Coordinating group personnel and property movements within the laboratory
Assignments will require the candidate to work independently and in a team environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for this role. We are seeking highly motivated, exceptionally bright and creative individuals who can think broadly, analyze problems, and implement solutions.
Experience with the Microsoft office suite (Excel, PowerPoint and Word) is required, SAP experience is preferred, MIT LL experience desired.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in business or related field, with 3-5 years applicable experience
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (primarily Excel, Word & PowerPoint)
SAP experience preferred
Demonstrated ability to present ideas verbally and in writing
Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance
