Thales Defense & Security, Inc. is currently seeking an Associate Buyer to work at our Clarksburg, Maryland Campus reporting to the Manager of Procurement.
This is an entry-level position. Ideal candidates would be a recent or upcoming graduate with a 2-year college degree with work experience, or Bachelor’s degree in associated discipline.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinates requisition requirements with requester.
- Assists in preparation of Procurement centered reports.
- Contacts Suppliers, Secure Bids and Executes Purchase orders in accordance with FAR/DFAR, Company Policies and Procedures.
- Adheres to Procurement procedures to assure follow- up and administration on Purchase orders.
- Communicate with all levels of the organization.
- Interact with AP to assist and ensure completion of Purchase Order/Invoice processing cycle.

- U.S. Citizenship required. - Applicants selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
- 2 year college degree w/work experience or Bachelor’s degree in associated discipline preferred.
- 0-5 years experience in Business Environment.
- Microsoft Office Skills (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).
- Able to work independently.
- A self-motivated work ethic.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a positive demeanor in order to interact with a variety of positions and levels within Thales as well as visitors.
- Ability to work in a fast pace, complex environment and effectively multi-task to meet demands.
- Excellent English verbal, written, and comprehension skills.
- Ability to comply with all Company guidelines, policies, procedures and embrace Company Core Values.
Preferred by not required
- 1 year of business experience. Government procurement experience desirable.
The annualized pay range for this role is $59,604.30 - $76,161.05 USD along with a target incentive compensation plan (ICP) of 5%. The pay range provided is a good faith estimate representative of the experience level for the role described above. TDSI considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
