Pay Range: $37.00 - $39.00
The specific compensation for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. Job Description:
- Associate Buyer for the Sourcing – Construction Services group
- The Associate Buyer performs a variety of sourcing and procurement functions of a relatively non-complex nature but may be required to support more complex initiatives under the direction and guidance of a senior team member.
- The responsibilities of this role include purchasing, contract development and administration, file documentation management, monitoring key contract information (such as expirations and forecasting status), supplier contact management, and sourcing team administrative support responsibilities.
- This position will also be responsible for working with other internal organizations requiring engagement and support from Sourcing, including Legal, Risk, and Internal Audit.
- Manage sourcing and procurement transactions related to the acquisition of products and services
- Procure products, and services, primarily from currently established suppliers under the direction and support from senior team members.
- Execute minor sourcing initiatives for the acquisition of products and services under the direction and support of senior team members.
- Support senior team members on more complex sourcing initiatives.
- Prepare and execute minor contracts and amendments
- Track upcoming contract expirations, communicate status to Buyers and contract owners, and take required actions prior to contracts expiring.
- Conduct new supplier pre-qualifications for senior team members.
- Serve as primary team member to respond to various supplier inquiries, and ensure timely responses are provided.
- Manage minor contract compliance processes (pricing, insurance coverage, etc.)
- Ensure proper insurance requirements are maintained on suppliers.
- Develop relationships with internal stakeholders and contract owners
- Manage filing of purchase order contract file documentation in Supply Chain’s designated system according to documentation standards.
- Responsible for updating and maintaining Source to Pay Portal.
- Assists senior team members with uploading files and maintaining the contract repository, setting up suppliers as needed.
- Review/audit contract and purchase order files to ensure documentation is accurate and complete and in accordance with Sourcing Internal Procedures.
- Assist in the standardization and documentation of processes and procedures as part of team’s process improvement effort
- Review procurement system buyer activities on a weekly basis, take required actions to meet audit requirements.
- Assist the teams and managers with occasional spot-checks to ensure contracts and paperwork and being filled out in a consistent manner and that training is effective.
- Support and promote client’s supplier diversity program
- Incorporate safety into daily work ethic and day-to-day processes
- Develop and maintain product, industry, and market knowledge
- High School diploma or equivalent is required. An Associate’s Degree or bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, or related field of study is preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree: 0 plus years of experience with degree; Associate degree: minimum of 2 years of related experience
- Utility industry experience a plus
- Supply Chain and/or Procurement Certification or Professional Credentials chain a plus
- Basic business knowledge and understanding of procurement processes
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Experience participating in process improvement initiatives a plus
- Intermediate application skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to positively influence team outcomes
- Ability to work with and manage confidential information
- Ability to negotiate and persuade others
- Ability to perform work accurately with a high attention to detail
