WORK SCHEDULE for Associate Counsel
This is a full-time position.
SALARY for Associate Counsel (Starting at $143,000)
Any offered salary is determined based on competency and skills, prior relevant experience, required degrees/certifications, internal equity within the organization and market competition.
ABOUT YOU
As Associate Counsel, you will work closely with the Senior Vice President and General Counsel to provide legal guidance across the organization. You'll ensure contract compliance, manage enterprise risk, administer the compliance program and our company's business objectives. Your expertise in contract management and risk mitigation will help us navigate complex legal issues, allowing us to continue our important work. Key Responsibilities:
- Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, including vendor agreements, service contracts, and partnership agreements. Ensure all agreements align with business and legal goals.
- Risk Mitigation: Identify potential enterprise risks and work with teams to develop and implement mitigation strategies.
- Collaborative Counsel: Provide legal advice on contract-related matters and collaborate with internal teams on legal standards, policy reviews and enforcement, business operations and broader legal matters
- Compliance Support: Assist with compliance efforts and partner with HR on employment practices, investigations, and legal training.
- Ongoing Legal Research: Conduct legal research to advise on questions facing the organization, and to help maintain the organization's legal integrity.
- Litigation Assistance: Assist with developing litigation strategy, preparing discovery responses, and subpoena requests.
Skills and Experience:
- Contract Expertise: In-depth knowledge of contract law, drafting, and negotiation.
- Risk Mitigation: Ability to spot legal and business risks and develop strategies to address them.
- Effective Communication: Strong verbal and written skills to translate complex legal concepts into actionable insights.
- Problem Solver: Ability to think ahead and resolve issues efficiently.
- Collaborator: Proven ability to work cross-functionally and partner with internal departments.
Qualifications:
- 4-6 years of corporate law experience from a law firm, in-house, or a combination of both - Required.
- J.D. from an accredited law school with a strong academic background.
- Licensed and in good standing in Pennsylvania or eligible for an in-house counsel license.
- Preferred: Experience in international law or health law, a compliance background and familiarity with graduate medical education is a bonus.
