Job DescriptionThis position supports the VP, Market Access EMEA (ImmunoGen) (IMAP) in developing the access ambition and key deliverables like payer value propositions/stories and ultimately as we approach launch providing tools and support to the market access teams in Areas and Affiliates. The Associate Director will be the IMAP co-Lead on the development of the Integrated Access Strategies (IAS)
This role will leverage your clinical understanding, deep global payer knowledge, and competitive insights to shape Access deliverables for Oncology assets.
• The position works closely with Area and affiliate personnel in determining appropriate responses/actions to developmental milestone decision points with regards to implications for local pricing and/or reimbursement issues.
• The primary goal of this position is to define/refine Global pricing & access strategy, influence global commercial strategy and integrated evidence program to optimize price, reimbursement, and patient access.
Overall Responsibilities Include:
- Addressing pricing, reimbursement, access (PRA) potential across international key markets, including the EU5, CAN, AUS, and BRA.
- In collaboration with the VP, Market Access EMEA , International Market Access and Pricing, leverage Evidence Based Medicine expertise and clinical background, deep global payer knowledge, research and competitive insights to lead the Value and Access Team (VAT) through the creation of the Integrated Access Strategy.
- Update global access materials (IAS, value proposition, payer objection handler, negotiation pathway, etc.) based on market insights and competitor dynamics.
- Collaborating with other IMAP functions such as Pricing and HTA Strategy as well as GHEOR, Government Affairs, IMCO, PCS and International Medical Affairs and complimentary Area & Affiliate Functions, to ensure solid understanding of global payer markets and emerging stakeholders in the reimbursement areas.
- Leading project management with regards to purchasing support, opening of POs; ensuring appropriate documentation is in place in line with company procedures and storage of pertinent documents to assigned projects.
Basic Qualifications:
- More than 7 years of direct biotechnology / pharmaceutical industry experience and/or payer experience.
- Strong interest in clinical and health economic data.
- Proven track record of being able to successfully interact with all levels of area, affiliate and internal authority across divisions (including Global Commercial Leaders, Forecasting, Clinical Development, HEOR, Medical Affairs and Regulatory, as well as peer equivalents in other market access teams and the market access community as a whole).
- The candidate must possess strong leadership, intrapersonal, critical thinking and analytical skills to work with a variety of groups in ensuring that the strategic direction for market access and pricing is in balance with the market as well as corporate goals.
- The candidate must be sensitive to cultural and market differences as they will interact and travel to multiple countries in their role.
- Relevant global payer and access experience.
- Education: B.A./B.S. required; Advanced degree (PharmD, MBA, PhD) in a scientific or economic area nice to have.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong clinical and disease area knowledge.
- Experience in payer trends, evaluating drivers of market access success.
- Knowledge of pricing policy & regulations and healthcare in key markets.
- Understanding of regulatory agency requirements or policies that govern market approval, and the impact on reimbursement decisions.
- Knowledge of pricing regulations, pricing governance in key global markets, standard operating procedures, and the business of healthcare in key markets.
- Experience across multiple therapeutic areas including Oncology is desirable.
- Strong leadership, intrapersonal, critical thinking, and analytical skills to work with a variety of groups in ensuring that the strategic direction for market access and pricing is in balance with the market as well as corporate goals.
- Strong presentation and writing skills.
