Position Summary
The Associate Director of Field Construction Operations will have a significant physical presence in the field, supervising the day-to-day Field Construction teams, identifying succession opportunities and developing team members for scalable growth. The Associate Director of Field Construction Operations will provide Tier 3 installation direction and support; track, process, and monitor team performance and quality of construction; provide professional and satisfactory communications with customers and subcontractors; and execute projects from pre-construction testing up to commissioning on time and within budget and scope, while meeting or exceeding customer expectations, and promoting the company Core Values through all actions and decisions.

Physical Requirements
Will regularly work in remote outdoor and uncovered areas exposed to varying elements, allergens, weather conditions, temperatures, and wildlife. Work may occasionally require large amounts of time spent standing, stooping, kneeling, bending or twisting at the waist, and walking on uneven or slippery ground conditions. Will occasionally be exposed to loud noises (100 dB). Must be able to work in sustained extreme temperatures (less than 10° F, more than 90° F). Will be required to wear PPE including, but not limited to, safety boots, hard hat, eye and ear protection.

Position Summary

Primary Responsibilities (Essential Duties)
- Acts as the field-level owner of project contracts and uses master-level understanding of Scope of Work (SOW) to resolve conflicts and disputes efficiently and diplomatically to maintain positive working relationships and project momentum.
- Actively supervise, develop and track metrics, or other key performance indicators, and produce metric trend reports for all aspects of the Construction Site Manager team, as well as all field teams and temporary workers assigned, including performance, mentorship, safe work ethic, scheduling, productivity, rework/remediation, logistics, and work schedules, identifying individual or crew performance trends.
- Will have and use a working understanding of solar renewable energy technologies including installation methods, safety compliance, regulatory requirements, construction processes, methodologies, engineering principles, technical drawings, and best practices or nearly equivalent technologies from other industries paired with a demonstrated ability to quickly learn.
- Uses analytical thinking and systems to identify issues and make informed and timely decisions based on data, expertise, and consideration of potential impacts on projects and stakeholders, to resolve before project impact. Will regularly identify project challenges, analyzing root causes, and implement solutions to overcome obstacles and drive project success.
- Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure construction meets industry standards, project specifications, and quality workmanship; actively participate in project post-mortems to identify and resolve detractors.
- Cultivate strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders to foster trust and collaboration with Terrasmart.
- Develop, consistently review, edit, circulate, train, and promote adherence to all departmental SOP's, construction installation manuals, and field training guides, working within corporate rules and procedures, and utilizing feedback from partnering departments.
- Will regularly communicate with customers verbally or in writing, travel to project and customer sites or locations, represent the company positively at trade shows and other customer facing events, in person.
- Train, motivate and manage all team members to ensure morale on site is high and execution of their career responsibilities is being performed properly. Ensure behavior of field representatives are representative of company's core values and are in line with company's culture. Personally demonstrate and model positive team behavior that contributes to efficiency, productivity, safety, and quality.
- Occasionally attend warranty or remediation requests from clients to investigate issue, cause and recommend proper course of action.
- Complete all required or directed training, certification, licensing, and other learning and development as assigned.
- Abide by all Federal, State, and local laws; uphold and maintain accountability to all Company policy.
- All other duties as assigned.

Education / Experience (an equivalent combination of education and experience)
- 2-yr or Associate's degree in Engineering, Business, or Construction Management
- 6 Years of Experience in Civil or Construction, preferably commercial renewable energy
- 4 Years of Experience in Progressive management responsibility in commercial construction
