We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced leader of Digitization and Process to lead and oversee the digitization efforts within our procurement organization. This position plays a critical role in driving efficiency, effectiveness, and innovation through the implementation of advanced digital solutions and process improvements. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive digitization strategy, managing cross-functional teams, and ensuring the seamless integration of digital technologies into procurement operations.
The Associate Director, Procurement Digitization and Process will coordinate, align, and leverage domain experts to identify, rationalize, and execute transformational Blue-Chip Programs aligning to Traton, and International Motors procurement strategy. Specifically, the role will lead to ongoing digital strategies, but also program related transformational activities. In addition to this, the role will work closely with the process optimization organization to ensure technical advancements are captured, mapped, and implemented such that maximum value can be achieved. The role will serve as the primary interface internally and across Traton on programs related to Group initiatives and be a central lead for internal brand support. This role will be responsible for creating, and producing timely insight reporting to program, procurement and IT leadership where required.
The candidate will serve as an internal consultant and domain expert in the areas of Digitization, processes, and transformation. The successful candidate will understand technology, process mapping, and have an eye for vision and new technologies. The candidate will also support additional change initiatives as required across International Motors, Traton, and Volkswagen maintaining, and ensuring the functional procurement organization’s needs are documented, incorporated and delivered.
Position Purpose and Requirements:
Supports and ensures that digital and process strategies and principles begin executed appropriately. Serves as a domain expert and liaison between Procurement and IT and facilitates a team culture of communication. Provides procurement approval within most program decision forums involving systems procurement uses, escalates issues as needed, and drives a high-performance culture within procurement. Interacts directly with various Brand and Group stakeholders at all levels as well as outside suppliers.
• Develop and implement a strategic roadmap for digitization within the procurement organization, aligning with overall company objectives and goals.
• Identify and prioritize key areas for digital transformation, leveraging emerging technologies to enhance procurement processes and outcomes.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to secure necessary resources and support for digitization initiatives.
Technology Implementation
• Lead the evaluation, selection, and implementation of digital tools and platforms that optimize procurement operations.
• Ensure seamless integration of new technologies with existing systems, minimizing disruptions and maximizing benefits.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in digital procurement technologies, recommending best practices.
Process Improvement
• Analyze current procurement processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
• Design and implement streamlined processes that enhance productivity, reduce costs, and improve overall procurement performance.
• Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of digitization and process improvement efforts.
Team Management
• Build and lead a high-performing team of digital and process improvement professionals.
• Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
• Encourage collaboration and knowledge sharing within the team and across the organization.
Stakeholder Engagement
• Engage with external partners, suppliers, and vendors to leverage their expertise and support in achieving digitization goals.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including procurement, IT, finance, and operations, to ensure alignment and successful implementation of digitization initiatives.
• Communicate progress, challenges, and successes of digitization efforts to senior leadership and other key stakeholders.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree
- At least 9 years of technical project/program management and/or product owner experience
- At least 5 years of management experience

- At least 7 years of technical project/program management and/or product owner experience
- At least 5 years of management experience

- At least 12 years of technical project/program management and/or product owner experience
- At least 5 years of management experience

• Proven track record of successfully implementing digital solutions and driving process improvements within a procurement organization.
• Strong understanding of digital procurement technologies, including e-procurement platforms, procurement analytics, and automation tools.
• Familiarity with Artificial Intelligence, Robotic Automation and associated tools.
• Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools, such as SQL, Tableau, and Power BI.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and their integration with procurement processes.
• Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
