Position Summary:
The Associate Director of Data and Operations within Compliance and Ethics at Bristol Myers Squibb will play a pivotal role in shaping the data strategy and operational excellence of our Enterprise Risk and Compliance & Ethics (C&E) functions. This position is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of data infrastructure, tools, analytics, and reporting, ensuring that our C&E functions are supported by robust, dependable, and insightful data solutions.
This position will be instrumental in developing and maintaining the data infrastructure that underpins our risk analytics and reporting capabilities. You will work closely with senior leadership, including the Corporate Executive Leadership Team (CELT) and Country Market leads, to provide critical risk insights and support routine Board reporting. Additionally, you will collaborate with various stakeholders to define requirements, assess technical feasibility, and ensure the successful delivery of analytics projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Infrastructure and Tools Management:
Oversee and manage the complete data infrastructure, tools, analytics, and reporting systems for Enterprise Risk and Compliance & Ethics (C&E) functions
Maintain and optimize various tools and technologies (e.g., Fresco, CMT, C&E Dashboards, Process Unity, Risk Model, Veeva EM, HCP Connect, and Eroster) to ensure seamless operation and functionality.
Assess, conduct thorough due diligence, and prioritize incoming requests for analytics and reporting from EMCOE, Transparency, and C&E stakeholders, ensuring data security and compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
Develop and implement best practices for data management and tool utilization to enhance overall efficiency and effectiveness.
Requirements Gathering and UAT Testing:
Conduct comprehensive User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for all EMCOE and C&E tools, including planning, designing test cases, executing tests, documenting results, and ensuring that all tools meet the specified requirements and quality standards before deployment.
Partner with stakeholders to define requirements and evaluate technical and data feasibility.
Perform detailed analyses to understand business needs and convert them into technical specifications.
Lead workshops and meetings with stakeholders to gather comprehensive requirements.
Document and communicate requirements clearly to ensure alignment and understanding across all teams.
Collaborate with senior management to align data operations with strategic objectives and organizational goals.
Provide leadership and mentorship to team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
Drive strategic initiatives to enhance data operations and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
Oversee project timelines and deliverables, ensuring successful execution and implementation.
Data Infrastructure Maintenance:
Oversee the management of the data lake and ensure the integration of relevant enterprise data.
Develop and manage the analytics and solutions roadmap for Enterprise Risk and Compliance & Ethics (C&E).
Identify and implement new tools, technologies, additional data requirements, and best practices in collaboration with other BMS functions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and integration of data initiatives across the organization.
Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness and impact of data operations and analytics initiatives.
Provide leadership and mentorship to team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
Drive strategic initiatives to enhance data operations and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
Qualifications & Experience:
7-10 years of experience in data management, analytics, or a related field, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership or managerial role.
Proven experience working with cross-functional teams, including IT, business units, and senior management, to align data initiatives with organizational goals.
Experience in identifying, implementing, and optimizing data tools and technologies to enhance operational efficiency.
Knowledge of data security, privacy regulations, and compliance standards relevant to the industry.
Experience in establishing and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of data operations and analytics initiatives.
Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
Experience in project management methodologies and tools, with a proven track record of managing and delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
Demonstrated leadership abilities, including team management, mentorship, and the ability to drive strategic initiatives.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
