The Associate Director of Student Engagement will support student success by strategically enhancing the co-curricular experience for Wharton undergraduates. The Associate Director will oversee and assess programs and initiatives related to student organizations and experiential learning. This position will serve as the primary advisor for over 45 Wharton-affiliated student organizations and provide student leaders with mentorship, engaging them in reflecting on organizational experiences as related to career and professional development and community. This position will also support Division career readiness initiatives and be highly collaborative, serving as a connecting point between campus partners, students, and Wharton staff.





Job Description


Job Responsibilities



+ Oversee standardization of policies and processes related to student organizations to provide equity among groups and streamline program implementation.


+ Promote inclusion and equity across all student-led initiatives and organizations.


+ Collaborate with the Director of Student and Alumni Engagement on strategic optimization of the co-curricular experience.


+ Collaborate with Division finance, operations, and communications teams to align student organization operations with Division and University priorities, policies, and processes.


+ Support program implementation and development around career readiness initiatives.


+ Foster career competency development for student leaders through their engagement in student organizations.


+ Collaborate with Division Finance and Data Analyst and Director to develop and oversee assessment of student-led and career readiness programming.


+ Collaborate with Director of Student and Alumni Engagement to foster inter-Division collaboration across teams supporting student experience and cross-campus collaboration with key partners.


+ Work closely with the Director of Research and Scholars Programs and Director of Student and Alumni Engagement to develop and implement long-term co-curricular strategy for JWS.


+ Advise students leaders of the JWS Society in planning and budgeting for various activities and programs, including annual welcome dinner, whitewater rafting trip, and career treks.

Qualifications



+ A bachelor’s degree with 3-5 years of experience in student engagement, student organization advising, or related areas in a higher education setting





Required Qualifications



+ Proven ability to lead and mentor student leaders.


+ Experience in developing, implementing, and assessing co-curricular programs and initiatives.


+ Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including students, faculty, and staff.


+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively engage with various audiences.


+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess program effectiveness and make data-informed decisions.





Preferred Qualifications



+ Experience in organizing large-scale events and activities.


+ Proven ability to establish connections within the higher education community and/or experience collaborating with campus partners.

Salary offers are made based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, as well as internal and market factors and grade profile.
