Job DescriptionWe are currently searching for a Associate Human Resources Business Partner to align business objectives in partnership with our Garland, Utah, Distribution Center Human Resource team. Reporting to our Director of Human Resources, this position is designed to be exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and will involve a broad range of HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, compliance and training. The position also requires the ability to think multiple steps ahead, prepare for potential problems and escalate issues when appropriate, and juggle competing deadlines effectively. Applicants should have a strong knowledge of employment laws, regulations and compliance, including FLSA requirements for exempt status. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent HR management skills, a thorough understanding of HR best practices and the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
A day on the job looks like this:
- Partner with HR team on tactical implementation and execution of department and business requests
- Provide frontline support for responding to employee inquiries, supporting internal mobility and guiding managers through employee-related issues, providing HR policy guidance and interpretation
- Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
- Work closely with the Director of HR to support HR initiatives and strategic planning
- Participate in the evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success; following up to ensure training objectives are met
- Engage in talent reviews and the performance management process to ensure internal talent is developed effectively and that gaps are appropriately identified and addressed
- Advise managers and supervisors regarding appropriate resolution of employee relations issues
- Coordinate with on-site leaders, the Talent Acquisition team and agency partners to ensure staffing levels are maintained
- Maintain HRIS records for all distribution employees and agency employees
- Manage onboarding and offboarding activities to ensure successful experience for employees
- Execute reporting and analytics on people-related metrics, trends and organization reviews
- Regularly spend time on warehouse floor to ensure availability to employees
- Jump into time-sensitive projects to support business needs
- Collaborate with other departments to address HR-related needs and foster cross-functional teamwork
- Shared service support for business frontline support for HR team

- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or related field preferred
- 5+ years of experience
- Proven experience in a Associate Human Resources Business Partner role with a broad understanding of HR functions and best practices
- Ability to work on-site at our Garland, Utah, distribution center
- Self-motivated and able to work in an autonomous yet collaborative environment
- Demonstrated customer service focus and ability to build relationships successfully
- Enthusiasm for curiosity and a continuous learning mindset
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and think clearly under pressure
- Highly organized, attention to detail and excellent follow-through required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism and confidentiality
