The Enterprise Tools and Solutions Development (T&S) team is part of the Analytics Organization (AO) - supporting PHS in developing robust solutions that provide automated and actionable insights to business stakeholders and leadership. The Tools & Solutions team provides expertise with analytics tools used by the AO to support the development of meaningful visualizations, improve operational efficiencies, and continously look for ways to innovate the delivery and presentation of data, information and amalytics.
Presbyterian Informaticists are key to our automations and success. As an Informaticist, you'll have the ability to take a project from start to finish - from requirements gathering, documentation, and build to deployment of tools and training for our analysts. You'll have the opportunity to engage and support projects on both payor and provider verticals.

Project Example:
Consolidated HARM Dashboard: Extracting data from multiple sources, calculating metrics and exporting data through SAS, which is then used by Tableau dashboard to present metrics related to Harm events, Patient safety, adverse events etc.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in a quantitative, IT, or related subject with two or more years of related business intelligence, analytics and reporting work experience OR a Masters degree in a quantitative, IT or related emphasis with limited prior work experience such as an working as an intern or teaching assistant.
- 2+ years of experience in Base & Advanced SAS, preferably with one or more SAS certifications and preferably with extensive macro utilization.
- Proven track record in SAS usage of designing, developing, and maintaining data extract/transformation jobs, analytical reporting, and automated programming with reusable and SAS macro driven components.
- 2+ years of experience in SQL, preferably with multiple Data Base Management systems and understanding of indexed and efficient table joins.
- 1+ years of Tableau dashboard development experience.
- Experience working with healthcare data - e.g., profiling, statistical analysis experience, and basic knowledge of health care and delivery system processes helpful.
- Flexibility – the ideal candidate can serve in both problem research/resolution and then switch hats to building sustainable process to solve that problem in an efficient manner ongoing.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of varied analytic tools and solutions as well as platforms and/or products.
- Requisite knowledge of a variety of server operating systems e.g., Windows, Linux, storage systems, databases e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, Netezza, scripting languages e.g., Perl, Ruby, Python, monitoring and job scheduling tools. Experience working with BI tools e.g., Business Objects BO, Cognos, data visualizations tools e.g., Tableau, querying language e.g., SQL, and the SAS software program.
- Ability to collaborate and partner with business, project managers, and IT to evaluate required analytics and reporting functionality, communicate tradeoffs and propose alternative solutions, as well as plan, prioritize, and participate in related development efforts.
Responsibilities:
- Build innovative and sophisticated analytical/reporting tools and solutions to automate manual reporting and analytics processes.
- Conduct gap analysis of current Tools and Solutions portfolio to identify and build improved versions of analytical/reporting tools to meet the business needs.
- Support other Informaticists in the evaluation of the effectiveness of health related technological solutions and services post implementation.
- Follow documented of programming standards and conventions.
- Responsible for supporting business stakeholders to meet their needs as well as educating end users on available tools and technology options.
- Coordinate with cross-functional project teams to utilize BI tools to develop reports, visualizations, dashboards, and other solutions that provide meaningful business insights.
- Assist with business area analysis, requirements definition and gathering, source data identification, data quality definition, transformation, and summarization processes.
- Support in maintaining up-to-date project documents for all initiatives that include technical details, user expectations, project goals, work effort, accountability, and deliverables.
- Assist in conducting risk identification and mitigation planning concerning any issues escalations and risks.
- Write and execute intermediate SAS queries and macros to meet the challenges of advanced data manipulation as well as support data queries from other functional groups; design and execute interactive Tableau dashboards and reports.
