About the Job
The Associate Logistics Partner will play a critical role in supporting efficient logistics operations and Request for Proposal (RFP) processes by monitoring and analyzing the performance of third-party logistics service providers (3PLs). This position ensures timely delivery, operational efficiency, and cost-effectiveness by coordinating closely with internal teams and external partners. The role also involves data analysis, performance evaluation, and administrative tasks to support the company's logistics strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate with 3PLs to track and monitor shipment statuses, ensuring on-time deliveries.
Collaborate with procurement and warehouse teams to collect and monitor data on inventory levels in transit.
Support delivery scheduling and perform administrative tasks related to logistics operations.
Assist in developing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Statements of Work (SOWs) for internal and external operations.
Aid in the development of criteria for selecting and managing third-party logistics partners, focusing on optimizing system capabilities and resources.
Summarize monthly transportation expenses by cost categories, reviewing findings internally with supervisors and reporting to management.
Evaluate and document cost-saving initiatives, tracking the overall impact on logistics operations.
Assist in the analysis of logistics data and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the performance of 3PL partners.
KPI Monitoring & Data Analysis:
Conduct transportation rate comparison analysis, including cost, system capabilities, operations competency, compliance, and risk management.
Generate and summarize monthly On-Time delivery reports and transportation expenses for internal review.
Support the evaluation of 3PL partners' performance by analyzing data related to KPIs.
Continuously seek opportunities for improvement in logistics efficiency and cost management.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, business, or a related field is preferred but not required.
Experience:
2-3 years of experience in logistics, supply chain management, or a similar field.
Experience working with third-party logistics providers (3PLs) is highly preferred.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in SAP or other logistics management software.
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis).
Experience with data analysis and KPI monitoring.
Travel Requirement:
Up to 20% travel may be required to visit logistics partners or attend meetings at other company locations.
Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $29.00 - $29.90
