As an Associate Manager of People and Culture, you are a pivotal member of the People and Culture team. You will provide consistent support throughout the employee lifecycle for the AFM organization. You will assist in designing and delivering a great employee experience, which empowers our employees to do great work and enables the business to remain one of top innovators in our industry. You will also assist with the implementation, administration, and management of people-centric strategies, processes, and systems throughout the organization to build and maintain culture across our team. This position is a full generalist role, regularly executing a wide variety of HR functions.
- Responsible for the project management of annual HR goals, projects, and initiatives. Ensure HR team is successful at meeting deadlines, deliverables, and budget restrictions.
- Manages benefits administration and open enrollment processes.
- Spearheads projects in the employee life cycle (recruiting, onboarding, performance management, benefits, employee engagement, compensation, leadership development, training).
- Regularly analyzes and creatively reports and presents people data and analytics.
- Manages budget forecasting and tracking for the HR department and the annual training budget.
- Supports the Culture Committee and Leads the Fun Times initiatives.
- Consistently and effectively communicates with employees through multiple platforms.
- Updates the attendance and budget of the training and development program for the company.
- Assists with internal and external Human Resources (HR) related inquiries or requests.
- Assists with new hire procedures, including organizing employee orientation, creating new employee files, administering employee handbooks, and ensuring all necessary paperwork is properly filled out and submitted to appropriate persons.
- Identifies and attracts new talent and assists in creating an inclusive environment where the team feels engaged and a sense of belonging.
- Assists in Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion initiatives.
- Provides administrative support to the People and Culture department as needed, including record-keeping, file maintenance and HRIS data entry.
- Conducts audits of training, benefits or other HR programs.
- Assists with the preparation of the performance review process.
- Research and negotiate with vendors to present the best cost, then process and manage contracts.
- Formulate and implement special projects as assigned by the company to improve processes.
- Schedules, organizes, and executes company events and meetings, interviews, HR events and maintain agendas with internal and external partners.
- Works closely with the Finance department to handle billing expenses.
- Work closely with HR leadership and Safety Committee to ensure compliance and resolve issues.
- Facilitate the success of events hosted by the company.
- Participates in accomplishing HR department goals, objectives, and system updates.
- Keeps up to date with the latest HR trends and best practices.
- Takes on additional tasks as needed.
- Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation and as a relationship builder.
- Possesses excellent communication skills including presentation, persuasion, and negotiation skills required in working with guests, vendors, and coworkers and including the ability to communicate effectively and remain calm and courteous under pressure.
