About the Role: The Media Buying Associate assists the media buying team and should be an extremely organized person who pays attention to the details and is able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. You should also be a quick study and a good communicator. This is a hybrid position, 2 days in office, that reports directly to a Media Buying Supervisor and is based in Dallas, Texas.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Negotiates, purchases and monitors television and radio buys for assigned group of markets
- Monitors and maintains all media buys, while following client guidelines
- Estimates all broadcast ratings
- Negotiates added value opportunities within client guidelines
- Documents all negotiations, make goods and credits
- Monitors buys in progress by spot checking placement and negotiating make goods, credits and/or billing adjustments when necessary
- Reviews all media invoices and resolves any discrepancies
- Collaborates with clients and media team members to resolve media billing issues
- Assists in coordination and communication of account information between buying team, planning team and/or client. Provides all necessary reporting and ensures client media buys and/or other deliverables are delivered on time and accurately.
- Collaborates with team members to ensure all client needs are met
- Effectively problem-solves, generates innovative solutions
- Improve and maintain positive relations with media representatives
- Stay updated on spot market conditions, price fluctuations, changes in viewing patterns, station changes and media trends
- Working on a range of client accounts at the same time, often juggling various projects and deadlines
- Assist on projects as needed
Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Self-motivated, very detailed oriented and an independent thinker
- Positive attitude and team oriented
- Ability to think analytically based on business objectives and client needs
- High comfort level with numbers and constant reporting needs
- Communicate clearly and effectively to others, written and verbal
- Plan and organizes work; sets priorities and manages time well
