The Division of Cystic Fibrosis, Pulmonology, and Pediatric Sleep Medicine at Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital (JDCH) is seeking an experienced BE/BC pediatric pulmonologist to lead the division. The selected physician will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of pediatric subspecialists. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in clinical pulmonology and demonstrated experience caring for patients with chronic and complex respiratory disorders such as cystic fibrosis, chronic lung disease of prematurity, chronic asthma, congenital airway anomalies and pediatric sleep disorders. Competency in flexible fiber-optic bronchoscopy is essential. Candidates must have an interest and willingness to teach, as they will be required to participate in Memorial’s Graduate Medical Education Program. Clinical research initiatives will be fully supported by the Office of Human Research. Though not required, those with additional fellowship training and board eligibility or certification in pediatric sleep medicine are encouraged to apply.
The Cystic Fibrosis and Pulmonary Center at JDCH is a Cystic Fibrosis Foundation-accredited center. The Division is comprised of a comprehensive team of specialists including pediatric psychology, respiratory therapy, nutrition, and social services. Adult transition is seamlessly established under the direction of a specialist team. The center participates in research trials and is the lead site for the CFF Regional Cooperative in South Florida. Additional specialty programs within the Division include the Neuromuscular Disease Clinic, JDCH’s Sleep Lab accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, and a nationally rated Asthma Program. The Pulmonology Division also performs flexible fiber optic bronchoscopy with state-of-the-art equipment.
This is a full-time employed position with the multispecialty Memorial Physician Group. The position offers competitive benefits and a compensation package that is commensurate with training and experience. Professional malpractice and medical liability are covered under sovereign immunity.
