Associate Medical Director, US Medical Affairs Oncology, Prostate Cancer
As a key member of the US Medical Affairs Oncology team, the Associate Medical Director, Prostate Cancer will support the development and execution of high quality US medical strategy for the tumor type(s) and program(s)/brand(s) for which they are responsible, ensuring connection between the US medical strategy and the near and long term outcomes for the program(s)/brand(s) throughout their lifecycle.
The Associate Medical Director, Prostate Cancer will support and participate in providing high quality scientific and medical support to all internal stakeholders, while ensuring adherence to the highest standards of ethics and compliance. The Associate Medical Director will also support the incorporation of customer insights into medical strategy.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role, Associate Medical Director, US Medical Affairs Oncology, Prostate Cancer, are to:
- Serve as a disease area medical expert for stakeholders across internal functions, as well as engage with external customers, including health care professionals, and patient advocacy groups;
- Support the Senior Medical Director(s) and Medical Director(s) in the development and execution of US Medical Affairs strategy for the tumor type(s) and program(s)/brand(s) for which they are responsible, offering input into the design and throughout the end-to-end execution of the strategy;
- Ensure design and execution of the US Medical Affairs activities for which he/she/they is/are responsible are in accordance wth internal and external compliance guidelines;
- Support the development and execution of Integrated Evidence Plans, Disease Area Plans, Medical Information Documents;
- Active participation and effective collaboration with global teams to provide US medical input into Life Cycle Management strategy;
- Support the development of Investigational New Drug (IND) applications, New Drug Applications (NDAs) and supplemental New Drug Applications (sNDAs);
- Provide appropriate US Medical Affairs input and participation into interactions with the FDA;
- Support completion of annual New Drug Application (NDA) reports for respective brands;
- Support the design, implementation, and pull-through of US Medical Affairs Advisory Boards.
WHO YOU ARE
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Required Qualifications:
- M.D. or D.O. required;
- Oncology and tumor type knowledge in both existing drugs and new fields of exploration;
- Relevant biopharmaceutical industry, clinical and/or academic work experience;
- Understanding of clinical study design, analysis and interpretation as well as the principles of observational studies and health economics/ outcomes research;
- Proven record of strong project management skills and experience;
- Ability to quickly build meaningful and trusting relationships, both internally and externally to the organization;
- Foundational understanding of the drug development process over different stages;
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written;
- Willingness and ability to travel as business dictates, both for internal and external functions;
- Demonstrated ability to work and deliver against challenging deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Medical Oncology or related specialty, preferred;
- 3 years work experience in the biopharmaceutical industry.
