Associate Power Engineer - Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories

As an Associate Power Engineer, a typical day might include the following:

• Further develop and maintain a detailed understanding of electric power systems and how to protect, monitor, and control the power system.
  
• Assist in developing product specifications, develop and analyze functional tests.
  
• Assist with application literature, instruction manuals, and data sheets.
  
• Provide power engineering support for customer applications and Field Application Engineers.
  
• Assist in writing and reviewing innovative power system protection solutions to present at technical meetings and conferences.
  

This job might be for you if:

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  
• Typically 2+ years experience in electric power systems, protection practices, and philosophies.
  
• Excellent technical training skills.
  
• Working knowledge of apparatus and protective relay application at an electrical utility, industrial plant.
  
• Working knowledge of SEL products.
  
• Experience in power system modeling using EMTP.

Pay Range Data
We anticipate filling this position as an Associate Power Engineer $60,800 - $95,000. We are open to reviewing additional candidates with more or less experience and the salary range may differ if filled at a different level. Our salary ranges are determined by job, responsibility, and location. We base our starting pay offer and title on location and job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills.
