Location: Hybrid in Santa Monica, CA or New York, NY
Compensation: $2,900 - $3,300 / bi-weekly

WSE also holds partnerships with 100 rights holders and sports properties, providing always-on programming to followers of the internet's largest and most engaged social communities.
Wave Sports Entertainment is seeking an Associate Producer to join the WSE Original Content Team. This position will support the shows for a full season and assist with episode production of podcasts and digital series across our network of brands, focusing on football and basketball. The ideal candidate will have a track record of associate producing standout talk-show original sports content, programming YouTube channels and podcast RSS feeds, and collaborating with top on-air talent. They’ll also have a strong understanding of social platforms and related audience preferences, and a passion for sports and storytelling.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the episodic creative and operational production of sports-centric talk shows.
- Support Producers and Executive Producers in crafting the show's unique tone and outlines.
- Build pre-show research packets to aid content ideation and create engaging show rundowns.
- Take organized and time-coded notes during taping sessions
- Collaborate with the sales team to manage, track, and produce ad reads.
- Draft editorial and promotional copy for each show, ensuring seamless integration within episodes.
- Source timely news for segments through outreach to contributors and secure clearance approvals.
- Assist in booking guests and ensure their technical setups are ready for recording.
- Source and procure show assets, including submitting tickets for graphics and thumbnails.
- Create compelling HED/DEK titles for YouTube and audio platforms, and draft timecodes for YouTube shorts.
- Program and publish cutdowns and full episodes for YouTube and podcast channels daily.
- Work alongside Producers and Video Editors to meet deadlines and uphold WSE’s voice and editorial standards.
- Assist Producers and EPs with scheduling meetings and communicating with stakeholders.
- Manage recording logistics, including supporting the setup and technical settings of recording software.
- Maintain and update show schedules and folder organization.
- Oversee and track approvals from all stakeholders.
Qualifications
- 1-3 years of experience coordinating compelling digital content and talk-based long-form shows.
- A highly creative storyteller with the ability to write, produce, manage, and execute projects from start to finish in a fast-paced newsroom environment.
- Proficiency in project management and content software (e.g., Asana, Riverside, Google Suite).
- Ability to conduct thorough research and source relevant content.
- Proactive, with the ability to anticipate obstacles and problem solve under pressure.
- Strong production experience organizing production workflows, assets, and talent schedules.
- Excellent project management skills, including scheduling and maintaining show timelines and deliverables.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong understanding of digital media trends and how audiences consume content across platforms.
- Highly skilled in managing multiple projects and priorities.

*This role is a full-time freelance position with a base salary range of $2,900 - $3,300 / bi-weekly. Actual salary at the time of offer may vary based on multiple factors, including an individual's experience level and qualifications.
Physical Requirements Work Environment
- Capacity to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, software, and hardware.
- The ability to communicate and exchange information clearly and accurately.
- Work is sedentary and involves sitting for the majority of work hours.
- Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 30 pounds.
- Able to work full-time M-F and nights and weekends as needed.
- A hybrid work environment, combining remote work with in-person collaboration in Santa Monica or New York City.
- The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions and work is performed in a business office environment.
- The worker may be exposed to variable lighting conditions (brightness or darkness) and noise during production when in the office.
