Overview
The Associate Program Director is responsible for the success and proper management of the assigned Stratford University academic program. The Associate Program Director will oversee the development and obtainment of accreditation for new courses, supervise and schedule faculty and serve as a liaison between the campus, community, high schools and local businesses. Specific responsibilities will include enhancing the University’s standing as a provider of degree granting related curriculum and the development of new curriculum. The Associate Program Director will also create an environment that attracts talented faculty and staff and promote excellence in teaching. The Program Director is expected to work collaboratively with instructional faculty and academic support programs to facilitate student success and strengthen the reputation of the university by promoting excellence in student service, advocacy, and curriculum. Active participation in departmental, campus and college committees is required
Functions:Your contribution will include:
- Provide functional oversight of all academic related programs
- Attract, mentor, provide advice, and retain students and faculty members
- Guide curriculum development as internal and external needs evolve, submit new programs, and successfully gain accreditation/ approval of new programs
- Ensure all activities related to the accreditation/reaccreditation of all programs meet or exceed standards
- Organize and ensure classes are properly taught and are meeting the contract minimum of on-campus hours per week
- Manage graduate and undergraduate faculty to include: evaluations, appointments, compliance and discipline
- Oversee all revenues and expenditures of the assigned department and ensure expenses are kept within target levels
- Foster and develop interdisciplinary collaborations to enhance Stratford University education
- Use PowerCampus as a tool to register students and resolve issues
- Provide leadership in exploring, recommending, and evaluating emerging curriculum
- Effectively address the academic concerns of students and faculty
- Attract, motivate, and inspire students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds
- Create an environment of trust, integrity, and accountability while fostering a positive climate for learning and development within the department
- Create a culture and work ethic that will maximize efficiency and performance in the organization
- Conduct regular meetings with faculty and document discussions
- Ensure degree programs are optimized to meet the needs of the business and industry
- Keep the CAO informed and aware of operational issues and other activities in the department and participate on committees and working groups, as necessary

- Speak clearly, concisely and effectively; listen to, and understand, information and ideas as presented verbally
- Communicate academic strategy, goals, and priorities to outside visitors and evaluators
- Support the University vision with respect to the assigned program
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Qualificiations
- Earned Doctorate Degree in related field preferred. Master’s degree considered
- Significant management and leadership experience in a university with demonstrated ability to lead academic programs
- Record of successful working relationships with internal and external constituencies, including faculty, students, alumni, and the larger professional information management community
- Ability to work with external constituencies including business and industrial partners
- Teaching, research, and community service experience
