Overview:TRC Advanced Energy (TRC) is a nationally known energy efficiency consultancy. TRC collaborates with clients to develop and implement market transforming programs and initiatives that promote energy efficiency, renewable energy, and green building in multiple market sectors across the US and around the world. These initiatives reduce energy costs, improve the health and safety conditions of buildings, while also helping the environment by reducing greenhouse gas emissions. TRC acts nationally to address some of our country’s most challenging problems: global climate change and energy independence.
TRC is seeking an Associate Project Manager to engage with multifamily building property managers, resident engagement managers and residents to organize and attend Resident Energy Efficiency Workshops throughout Oregon (Portland Market). This position will spend 20-30% of their time attending workshops in person. The position works with the Strategic Energy Management team including TRC, client, and multiple subcontractors to implement an energy efficiency incentive program.
This position will be based in Portland Oregon.
Responsibilities:Responsibilities
- Workshop Assistance: Assist with 50 to 75 workshops, each lasting one to two hours, in multifamily buildings throughout Oregon. This will involve driving and/or taking public transportation to multifamily properties throughout Oregon with the vast majority in the Portland area. Responsibilities include:
- Assisting presenters with all aspects of the resident energy workshops including, but not limited to:
- Tracking attendance.
- Assisting residents in and out of the workshop space.
- Watching for resident with issues preventing them from attending or enjoying the workshop.
- Handing out and programming headsets for non-English speakers.
- Observing the audience and the presenters and making recommendations for future workshops
- Post event follow-up including event attendance worksheets, resident surveys and ordering any extra resident energy kits
- Strategic Team Contributor: Eventually, play a vital role in our team, leveraging a deep understanding of residents of multifamily buildings and what helps them learn to save energy.
- Efficient Project Management: Demonstrate comprehensive project management skills, efficiently guiding initiatives from initial planning stages to successful project completion.
- Proactive Problem Solver: Tackle challenges head-on with a proactive problem-solving mindset, ensuring timely and effective resolution in a dynamic work environment.
- Innovative Energy Advocate: Introduce and champion innovative ideas, actively encouraging and facilitating participation in impactful energy efficiency programs.
- Diverse Responsibilities Management: Assume diverse responsibilities, including engaging with various members of the team including multiple subcontractors, writing memos, adding to regular reports, assisting with building strategic plans, and handling administrative tasks effectively.
- Customer Engagement: Engage with multifamily building owners, managers and resident customers to represent our client in a professional, intelligent and compassionate manner.
- Database Management: Manage and track workshops using our customer led methodology.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Time Management: Strong time management skills and attention to detail.
- Organizations Skills: Strong organizational skills with a detail-oriented approach.
- Reliability: Must be able to get to each workshop on time to assist presenters with entire workshop.
- Resourceful: Proven ability to adapt to situations and solve problems on the spot.
- Experience: 2+ years of experience in sales, project management, teaching, working with a community based non-profit or interacting with disadvantaged communities.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and the ability to learn and operate TRC/client-designed systems as well as the ability to learn AV equipment and interpreter headset programming.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Cultural Awareness: Experience working with diverse populations, cultural awareness, cultural responsiveness or community engagement work.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or associate degree or proven ability to affectively communicate through presentations, in person meetings, and emails.
- 2+ years of experience.
- Driver’s License required. Be willing and able to obtain prior to starting, a personal vehicle (mileage reimbursed) or discuss taking public transportation and renting cars to 50-75 locations over the next 3 months.
- Excellent speaking and written communication skills.
- Proven experience writing reports, memos, emails and/or PowerPoints.
- Ability to manage deadlines and forecast assignments
Highly Qualified Candidates will demonstrate:
- Familiarity with the energy efficiency or sustainability industry is a benefit but not required
- An understanding of databases and experience with data research
- Bilingual speaking and translation skills is a benefit but not required
- Public speaking or teaching experience
- Experience working with multifamily buildings or tenant organizations

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.
Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company’s annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
