Associate Scientist - Zachary Piper LLC

Piper Companies is actively seeking a Associate Scientist to join a join a dynamic and fast-paced team focused on

developing therapies to degrade disease-causing proteins for diseases related towards CNS. This position is located in New Haven, Connecticut. The Associate Scientist is a laboratory/wet bench based role that will conduct biochemistry techniques alongside other team members in support of small molecule drug discovery efforts.

Responsibilities of the Associate Scientist:

• Design and conduct experiments, followed by data analysis.
• Maintain and culture both adherent and suspension mammalian cells; isolate and expand clonal cell populations.
• Assess target protein degradation using techniques such as Western blot, ELISA, or similar methods.
• Record, compile, and interpret experimental data; manage laboratory notebooks, databases, and spreadsheets to present data effectively.
• Collaborate with biology and chemistry team members to advance drug discovery and development programs.
• Present experimental data at regular team meetings.

Qualifications of the Associate Scientist:

• 2+ years of relevant laboratory experience
• Hands of experience in assessing protein levels in various bioassays (Western blots, ELISA, In Cell Western)
• Aseptic mammalian cell culture, including media preparation, cryopreservation, and clonal isolation
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• B.S./M.S. Degree in biology, neuroscience, or related field

Compensation of the Associate Scientist:

• Salary: $30-$40/hr
