Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Associate Systems Administrator to join our team to assist in the maintenance and configuration of our computer systems, network servers, and virtualization infrastructure while providing technical assistance and support to internal users within our ophthalmology practice, which operates across four offices within Monmouth County. The ideal candidate will have excellent problem-solving skills, a customer-focused attitude, and the ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical users.
Requirements:
- System Monitoring and Maintenance:
- Assist in monitoring system performance and troubleshooting issues to ensure maximum uptime and reliability.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as system updates, patch management, and software installations.
- User Support:
- Provide technical support to end-users, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and assisting with account setup and configuration.
- Respond promptly to user inquiries and provide resolution or escalate issues as necessary.
- System Configuration and Deployment:
- Assist in the configuration and deployment of new servers, workstations, and network devices.
- Participate in the setup and maintenance of virtualized environments and cloud-based services.
- Security Management:
- Collaborate with the security team to implement and maintain security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and antivirus software.
- Assist in monitoring and responding to security incidents and vulnerabilities.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
- Generate reports on system performance, capacity, and utilization for analysis and planning purposes.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years' experience in a technical support role or IT environment.
- Previous experience in the medical field
- Solid understanding of computer systems, networks, and operating systems
- Strong knowledge of desktop operating systems (Windows, macOS) and productivity software (Microsoft Office 365)
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Education Requirement: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
Work Schedule:
8:30AM-5:00PM Flexibility is key, with occasional availability required on weekends and evenings.
