Marcum LLP is seeking an Assurance Staff Associate to join our growing and well-established national firm in our Merrimack, NH office.

Responsibilities
- Collect and analyze data to detect deficient controls, compliance errors and irregularities, fraud, or noncompliance with laws and regulations.
- Prepare detailed audit reports in accordance with relevant standards.
- Inspect eligibility, procurement and reporting records and compliance systems for efficiency and effectiveness,
- Communicate effectively with fellow staff and engagement supervisor/manager to ensure recording of transactions and compliance with laws and regulations.
- Examine and evaluate compliance systems.
- Perform research when necessary.
- Take complete ownership of specific aspects of the engagement and see them through to completion.
Qualifications
- BA/BS/MS in Accounting. Recent grads welcome.
- 3 months - 2 years of experience; experience with nonprofit and commercial audits.
- Basic technology skills, with proficiency in Excel, Word required.
- Ability to interact with clients, all levels of staff and colleagues in a professional fashion.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must.
- Effective time management and analytical abilities.
- Desire having or wanting to achieve CPA.
- Ability to travel to client sites, within New Hampshire and Northern Massachusetts. Some overnight travel may be required.
