JOB SUMMARY
This position requires full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Missions of Blessing Health Systems. ICARE standards must be demonstrated. Adherence to Code of Conduct and other policies is required. This role is a licensed athletic trainer who is highly skilled and motivated to support Blessing Health Orthopedic practice. The athletic trainer will work closely with orthopedic physicians, providers, nurses, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care for patients of all ages with a focus on casting/splinting/bracing, rehabilitation, and patient education. This role will involve assisting with clinical evaluations, rehabilitation planning, and post-operative care, as well as providing support during patient consultations and treatments. The athletic trainer complies with the Code of Ethics/Standards of Practice as outlined by their professional organization and by the State of Illinois. This position includes direct patient care, teaching, participation on appropriate committees and departmental process improvement. The Athletic Trainer serves in all aspects of professional, clinical, communication, education and leadership activities.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Training/Experience:
REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Training
License/Certifications/Special Requirements:
- Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) through the Board of Certification
- Certification in casting/splinting/bracing
- LIC ATHTRN (new grads will need to provide proof of license application and obtain licensure within three months of hire)
- American Heart Association BLS CPR card within 90 days of hire
- Previous experience in an orthopedic or outpatient clinical setting preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as part as a multidisciplinary healthcare team
- Developing a collaborative outreach program to local school athletic programs. May include attending sporting events
- Full Time position, Monday through Friday 8a – 5 p
- Occasional Nights and Weekends for practices and/or games
