Join our dynamic nonprofit team as a Permanent Attorney! We are seeking a passionate, dedicated, and experienced attorney to provide legal counsel and guidance for our organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in corporate governance, corporate securities, and lobbying. This is a unique opportunity to leverage your legal expertise in a mission-driven environment. The Permanent Attorney will play a crucial role in advising on legal matters, ensuring compliance, and advocating for our organization's interests.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide legal advice and guidance on a variety of issues, including corporate governance, corporate securities, and lobbying activities.
2. Review, draft, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
3. Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
4. Represent the organization in legal proceedings, if necessary.
5. Develop and implement legal strategies and policies to protect the organization's interests.
6. Coordinate with outside counsel, as needed.
7. Stay updated on current legislation and legal trends that may impact the organization.
8. Provide training and guidance to the organization on legal matters.
9. Participate in the decision-making process of the organization, providing legal insights and perspectives.
Qualifications:
1. Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
2. Must be a member in good standing with the state bar.
3. Minimum of 5 years of experience as a practicing attorney, preferably in the nonprofit sector.
4. Proven experience in corporate governance, corporate securities, and lobbying.
5. Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
6. Strong understanding of laws and regulations related to nonprofits.
7. Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
8. High ethical standards and professionalism.
9. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
10. Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
