Attorney from Vanguard Group Staffing

Staff Attorney needed at nonprofit legal firm for their Yonkers office. The Attorney will work on General Practice Matters with an emphasis on Foreclosure and Housing Law. This is a direct hire onsite Monday through Friday 9am-5pm position.

Duties of the Position: Include intake and individual case work, litigation in state and federal courts, including appellate practice, and education and outreach efforts directed at community members and service providers.

Requirements

• Member in good standing of the New York State Bar
• 1 plus years of legal experience, including litigation
• Understanding of the nature and dynamics of eviction
• Excellent people skills, written, and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated commitment to serving persons who cannot afford an attorney is a plus
