About the Job
Responsible for identifying and investigating fraudulent activities, conducting compliance audits, and ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements. Works closely with the Compliance and Risk Officer to mitigate risks and implement effective compliance strategies.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Works with Operations and Compliance team leaders regarding identifying fraud patterns through vendor relationships and members.
- Ensure adherence to internal policies and regulatory requirements through regular audits.
- Assist in creating and implementing programs to prevent fraud and enhance compliance.
- Reviews and analyzes negative share reports.
- Assists with related special projects.
- Provide assistance during regulatory reviews and compliance examinations.
- Keep up-to-date with relevant laws, regulations, and best practices in compliance and fraud prevention.
- Conduct training sessions and workshops for staff to educate them about compliance standards, fraud detection techniques, and reporting protocols.
- Works Verafin account fraud alerts on a daily basis and deciding if those alerts should be elevated to cases.
- Serve as the go-to expert for employees when potential fraud or account compromise is detected. Responsible for placing account freezes, conducting detailed account research and investigations, and directly communicating with members to address and resolve issues promptly.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in related field preferred.
- Two to four years related experience.
- Strong understanding of AML, KYC, BSA, and other relevant laws and regulations.
- An understanding of the Verafin AML system is highly preferred
