Audit Manager – Affordable Housing / HUD at CPA firm

About the Job
Reporting to an audit partner and or working with audit managers, you will be responsible for the overall planning, organization, and completion of several client financial statement and compliance audits, with the assistance of senior and staff accountants.
Responsibilities:
· Planning and reviewing financial statement and compliance audits for affordable housing/HUD clients, including for-profit and nonprofit under OMB
· Compliance testing under the HUD Audit Guide, OMB uniform guidance, and for state agency LIHTC
· Supervising, training and evaluating staff
· Reviewing quarterly financial information
· Determining the best tax strategy to optimize the clients’ tax issues
Qualifications:
· An undergraduate or graduate degree in Accounting
· CPA a must
· 5-7+ years at a public accounting firm in the affordable housing/HUD industry
· Prior experience with nonprofit returns (990’s) & Partnerships (1065’s) returns
· Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
