Audit Senior Associate - Cbiz

• Execute audit assignments in various areas.
• Tailor and complete engagement audit programs in accordance with GAAP.
• Assist junior staff with understanding audit practices specific for alternative investment funds, as well as Marcum LLP practices, procedures and systems.
• Supervise the activities of staff assigned to audit engagements and solve engagement problems.
• Identify and communicate issues that affect the accuracy of the accounting records.
• Collect and analyze data to detect deficient controls, accounting errors and irregularities, fraud, or non-compliance with laws and regulations.
• Interview clients' staff to ensure appropriate recording of transactions and compliance with laws and regulations.
• Examine and evaluate financial and information systems, recommending controls to ensure system reliability and integrity.
• Perform research when necessary.
• Take complete ownership of specific aspects of the engagement and see them through to completion.
• Effectively utilize engagement software.
• Thorough understanding of basic accounting and reporting requirements.
• Review and proof client financial statements including complex footnote disclosures.
• Prepare and complete meaningful management letters.
• Respond in a timely fashion to client questions and requests.
• Communicate engagement needs to the client.
• Involvement in the review process, resolve and clear review points from Manager, Partner, EQR.
• Develop and cultivate effective relationships with client and staff.
• Keep current on professional pronouncements.

Minimum Qualifications Required

• Bachelor’s degree 
• 3 years of experience in public accounting or related field
• 1 year supervisory experience preferred
• CPA candidates preferred
• Ability to manage deadlines, work on multiple assignments and prioritize each assignment as necessary
• Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally
• Proficient use of applicable technology
• Must be able to travel based on client and business needs

The annual salary target for this job in this market is $80,000-$115,000. The specific compensation for this role will be determined based on the education, experience, and skillset of the individual selected for this position.
