District Partners is engaged with a boutique regional CPA firm located in the scenic Roanoke area serving diverse clientele, including high-net-worth individuals, car dealerships, manufacturers, and government entities. As they continue to grow, we are looking for experienced professionals to join our team, with opportunities for advancement all the way to Partner.
We are seeking a Senior Tax/Audit Associate who is ready to take on a dual role in both tax and audit services. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates who are looking to develop a well-rounded skill set and who aspire to reach Partner level. You will be working closely with our experienced Partners, receiving mentorship and guidance as you progress in your career.
Key Responsibilities:
- Tax Services: Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and other entities. Assist with tax planning and provide advisory services to clients.
- Audit Services: Conduct audits, reviews, and compilations for various clients, including businesses and government entities. Perform risk assessments, evaluate internal controls, and ensure compliance with applicable standards.
- Client Interaction: Serve as a point of contact for clients, addressing their tax and audit needs, and building strong, long-term relationships.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with Associates and Managers to deliver exceptional client service. Mentor junior staff and contribute to their professional development.
- Business Development: Participate in business development activities, including networking and client acquisition. Earn commissions on any new clients you bring to the firm.
- Hybrid Work Schedule: Enjoy the flexibility of a hybrid work environment, with the ability to tailor your schedule based on client needs and personal preferences.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 2-10 years of experience in public accounting, with exposure to both tax and audit work.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
- CPA: CPA certification is preferred, but candidates actively pursuing their CPA will be considered. A $5,000 bonus is awarded upon successful completion of the CPA exam.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in tax preparation software, audit tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Soft Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Salary: Competitive salary ranging from $60,000 to $90,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
