Position Summary:
Responsible for daily operations as it relates to referral process, obtaining authorizations and coordinating all services with the physicians and clinical staff. Maintains patient schedules, prepares medical records and ensures appropriate paperwork is prepared before each visit.

- Maintains a safe, clean working environment, including unit based safety and infection control requirements.
- Responsible for obtaining authorizations as required by the individual insurance company. Accurately enter notes regarding letters or correspondence from insurance companies regarding insurance authorization or other notifications.
- Communicates and collaborates with clinic staff and specialists for clinic visits.
- Maintains schedules of patients, prepares medical records, and ensures the appropriate paperwork is prepared before each visit.
- Coordinates all services with the physicians and clinical staff
- Coordinates the transportation of patients with the institutions.
- Responsible for referral process.
- May assist with the charge posting of clinic visits as needed.
- May assist with maintaining office and clinical supplies.
- Performs other duties as required by Manager or Director.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years related experience in a clinic, hospital or other healthcare environment (insurance authorizations and referral process), required.
- Proficient skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, required.
- Excellent customer and communication skills, ability to work independently, required.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, required.
- Experience with and ability to multi-task with scheduling of patients, physicians for clinic visits, required.
- Must understand policies and procedures for treatment of patients, required.
- Understanding and compliance with JACHO, required.
Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent, required.
Certifications:
- Certificate of completion of a nationally certified Medical Assistant program, preferred.
