Auto Body Technician Position Summary: The Body Shop Technician is responsible for performing accurate repairs and straightening of vehicle frames on all makes and models of automobiles. This position restores damaged vehicles to pre-accident condition. This person plays a key role in delivering on the companies promise of speed, quality, and customer satisfaction. They are responsible for providing fast, accurate, high-quality, efficient mechanical repairs, and is responsible for nurturing and cultivating a positive culture and work environment that aligns with the mission and values of the organization.
What will you be responsible for?
- Performs quality repairs without passing on defects.
- Utilizes the technical information sheet attached to the work order for all structural repairs, replacement, airbag, and mechanical work.
- Fit and weld replacement parts into place, using wrenches and welding equipment, and grind paper to protect them from the paint.
- De-trims and disassembles vehicles, putting parts on parts carts.
- Performs pre-pulls to make repair vs. replace decisions.
- Remove damaged sections of vehicles using metal-cutting guns, air grinders, and wrenches, and install replacement parts using wrenches or welding equipment.
Do you have the necessary education and experience?
- High School Degree or Equivalent
- Structural and welding certifications required.
- Experience working with class 2 vehicles.
- Auto Body Vo-Tech certified preferred
- 3-5 years automotive body technician experience required.
