About the Job
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Auto Mechanic / Diesel Mechanic. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair of vehicles, trucks, and heavy construction machinery. The role requires a solid understanding of schematics and wiring diagrams, proficiency with multimeters and diagnostic equipment, and competency with electrical work. Experience with CanBus, PLC, or ECU systems and familiarity with EV or Hybrid technologies is highly desirable. The position involves frequent travel (50%-75%+) to various job sites in the region, requiring flexibility and adaptability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshooting and Diagnostics: Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and methods to identify and resolve mechanical and electrical issues in vehicles, trucks, and heavy machinery.
- Repair and Maintenance: Perform repairs and routine maintenance on a wide range of vehicles and equipment, including diesel engines and heavy construction machinery.
- Electrical Work: Diagnose and repair electrical systems, including understanding and interpreting wiring diagrams and schematics.
- Equipment Utilization: Employ multimeters, diagnostic equipment, and other tools effectively to ensure accurate and efficient repairs.
- Travel Requirements: Travel to various job sites as needed, ensuring timely and effective service delivery while maintaining high standards of workmanship.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of repairs, diagnostics, and maintenance activities. Report findings and recommendations to management as required.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other mechanics and technical staff to resolve complex issues and improve repair processes.
- Experience: Proven experience as an auto mechanic or diesel mechanic with a strong background in troubleshooting and repair of vehicles, trucks, and heavy construction machinery.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in using diagnostic equipment, multimeters, and performing electrical work. Strong understanding of schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Software Knowledge: Experience with Windows OS for diagnostic and reporting purposes.
- Specialized Knowledge (Preferred): Experience with CanBus, PLC, or ECU systems. EV or Hybrid vehicle experience is highly desired.
- Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel 50-75% of the time to various job sites.
